The Professional Schools Component
Several key components of the Pepperdine Voyage addressed needs of the four professional schools—the School of Law, the Graziadio Business School, the Graduate School of Education and Psychology, and the School of Public Policy.
PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL VOCATIONAL SPEAKERS
The project made funding available to the professional schools to bring to their students outstanding speakers who could address the topic of "vocation" from a Christian perspective.
PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL STUDENT SERVICE INTERNSHIPS
The Voyage grant provided opportunities for professional school students to undertake approved summer internships with faith-based, service-oriented organizations. The students received stipends which allow them the opportunity for service and for exploring their own vocation in very practical ways. Students worked with faculty mentors and produced papers reflecting their experiences in the internship and its implications for their vocations. This program continues with funding from the Center for Faith and Learning.
SEMINAR OPPORTUNITIES
The Pepperdine Center for Faith and Learning makes a special effort to recruit faculty members in the professional schools for the various "Faith, Learning, and Vocation" seminars. Also, new faculty members in the various professional schools participate in the new faculty retreat and seminar held each year at one of Pepperdine's International Programs sites. To read more about these opportunities, please see the Faculty Development page.
