School of Law to Host 2018 SoCal Trial Lawyers Conference
Pepperdine University School of Law will host the third annual Southern California Trial Lawyers Conference at Smothers Theatre on the Malibu campus on Saturday, January 27, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The Southern California Trial Lawyers Conference seeks both to highlight the many ways that trial lawyers advocate for justice in their local communities and to showcase the School of Law’s contributions to the field. Nationally recognized trial attorney Mark Lanier will serve as this year’s keynote speaker.
Featured topics include a panel discussion on “Empowering Aspiring Female Trial Lawyers: Unique Challenges and the Way Forward” led by Dean Emeritus Deanell Reece Tacha; Ibiere Seck, partner and trial lawyer at the Cochran Firm; Louanne Masry, personal injury, nursing home, and sexual abuse attorney at Taylor & Ring; Wendy Coats, California Appellate attorney at Fisher Phillips; and Rex Parris, founding partner of the Parris Law Firm and current mayor of the City of Lancaster, California. Mark Hiepler, founding partner of Hiepler & Hiepler; Spencer Lucas, a trial lawyer at Panish Shea & Boyle; and Justice Douglas Miller of the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division 2, will discuss “How to Lead a Purpose Driven Life as a Trial Lawyer.”
Pepperdine students, faculty, and staff may attend free of charge. Ticket prices for other parties range between $25 and $150. Six CLE credits will be offered to eligible attendees.
