Pepperdine Gives 2024 Rallies Remarkable Community Support

Pepperdine Gives 2024, Pepperdine’s annual giving day held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, brought together the University community to support more than 270 areas throughout Pepperdine. Since its inception in 2017, this annual day of giving has been essential in supporting students to achieve their goals and in shaping them into purpose-driven servant leaders prepared to make a positive impact on the world. With the help of donor generosity, Pepperdine is able to support countless opportunities and initiatives, profoundly affecting not only the campus community but also the lives of students.

Inspired by Pepperdine president Jim Gash’s (JD ’93) “Freedom” theme for the 2024–2025 academic year, this year’s campaign raised a remarkable $1,625,588 from 2,579 gifts. Notable highlights include more than $218,000 directed toward student scholarships and $383,300 raised for Athletics, with Seaver College close behind at $382,700.

“It was inspiring to see so many freely give of their own resources to support the good works happening all across the Pepperdine community.” President Gash said. “Every dollar, every volunteer hour, and every act of generosity on this day bolsters our mission of preparing students for lives of purpose, service, and leadership.”

Liam Iadicicco, Pepperdine’s director of Annual Giving, expressed excitement over this year’s success and was proud of the amazing community that has rallied together in support of the University. “We are absolutely thrilled by the incredible generosity during Pepperdine Gives 2024. Raising more than $1.6 million from thousands of generous donors is a testament to the unwavering spirit of our Pepperdine family.” Iadicicco also celebrated the growing community engagement, sharing that 510 first-time donors contributed a collective $160,000.

A standout element this year was the involvement of more than 300 volunteers, including students, staff, and parents, who drove the event’s success. The campaign also introduced new giving options, such as individual undergraduate majors and support for Pepperdine’s College of Health Science. Iadicicco added, “It’s inspiring to see our community rally around these new initiatives. Together, we’ve not only exceeded our goals but also strengthened the bonds that make Pepperdine so special.”
