Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts Announces Lineup for 2024–2025 Season

Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts Lineup for 2024–2025 Season

The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts has announced the lineup for its 2024–2025 season, opening in September 2024 and running through April 2025. The program will feature 28 professional presentations, as well as eight student concerts and six student productions including the Theatre Department series, opera, and annual dance performance.

“Each year we are pleased to present an innovative, unique, entertaining, and diverse program of exceptional performances and museum exhibitions,” said Rebecca Carson, managing director for the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts. “This year I'm thrilled to present some new-to-Pepperdine artists as well as some returning favorites. There is nothing like the collective effervescence that comes from a live performance, and we can't wait to connect our community with these amazing artists.”

Notable shows will include the legendary dance companies Pilobolus and ABT Studio, a complete rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s timeless album Rumours presented by Classic Albums Live, and well-known songs by Colin Hay, the front man of Men At Work. Attendees can also enjoy behind-the-scenes stories with Bob Eubanks’ Backstage with the Beatles, featuring “Ticket to Ride”; festive performances like Home for the Holidays with Peabo Bryson, Oleta Adams, Ruben Studdard, and Haley Reinhart; and cultural exchanges with groups such as TAIKOPROJECT, which blends ancient Japanese traditions with 21st-century American innovation, and The Pa'akai We Bring, ancient stories of Native Hawaiians told through hula, live music, and audience participation.

Throughout the season, the Seaver College Fine Arts Division will present productions of Lost Girl, 9 to 5 The Musical, Iphigenia Among the Taurians, Passage, and The Magic Flute. Attendees can also enjoy the annual Dance in Flight, presented by Student Activities. The Pepperdine Orchestra, Chamber Choir, Pickford Ensemble, and Jazz and Wind Ensembles will present a selection of classical performances, and guitar virtuoso Christopher Parkening will conduct two master classes in Raitt Recital Hall.
