President Jim Gash to Discuss the Role of Higher Education in Preserving American Values at Commonwealth Club of California Speaker Series
On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, president Jim Gash (JD '93) will serve as a featured panelist at the Commonwealth Club of California’s American Values Series to discuss “The Role of Higher Education in Preserving American Values.” Moderated by Kiron Skinner, Taube Professor of International Relations and Politics at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy, Gash will be joined by fellow panelist Suresh V. Garimella, president of Vermont University, to explore the role colleges and universities play in the curation and development of societal values. The event will also address the role of these institutions in teaching, challenging, and deepening American values; identifying the purpose of those values; and what still needs to be done.
Hosted by the Commonwealth Club of California, a nonprofit public forum, the event will take place at the Taube Family Auditorium in San Francisco, California at 6 PM.
