Condoleezza Rice to Keynote 48th Annual Pepperdine Associates Dinner

Condoleezza Rice

On Saturday, February 17, 2024, the Pepperdine community will celebrate the 48th annual Pepperdine Associates dinner at 6 PM at the Beverly Hills Hotel. This year’s theme, Shining the Light of Truth, recognizes the significance of seeking truth as a cornerstone of American ideals and aspirations and will welcome keynote speaker Condoleezza Rice, the 66th secretary of state of the United States, who has played a critical role in safeguarding the interests and integrity of the nation both at home and abroad.

Rice was the second woman and the first Black woman to hold the position of secretary of state. A recognized expert in international affairs and a trusted public servant, she also served as president George W. Bush’s national security advisor from January 2001 to January 2005. With a trailblazing career marked by integrity and purpose, Rice continues to be an influential voice in US foreign policy, national security, and diplomacy. She is the Tad and Dianne Taube Director of the Hoover Institution and a Senior Fellow on Public Policy, as well as a Denning Professor in Global Business and the Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In addition, she is a founding partner of Rice, Hadley, Gates & Manuel LLC.

Rice served as Stanford University’s provost from 1993 to 1999 and has been on the Stanford faculty since 1981. She has won two of the university’s highest teaching honors. She is the author of three New York Times best-sellers and in 2022 became a part owner of the Denver Broncos as part of the Walton-Penner Family Ownership Group.
