"I have helped set protocols and flow for treating the new influx of COVID-19 patients. I have helped redeploy an extra 30 PA/NPs from other departments to help with the surge in Emergency Department (ED) volume. Most importantly, I also work clinically caring for the patients. It is unlike any other time I have worked in the ED in my 19 years as an Emergency PA. It's not just the high volume of sick patients, having to put on and off personal protective equipment (PPE) with each encounter, but being by their side. They have no family as visitors are not allowed. It's giving them a hand to hold and making them feel loved and not alone." - Robert Sellman ('97)
