Our Commitment

We are committed to measuring and assessing progress on each of the strategic goals and objectives in the Pepperdine 2030 Strategic Plan. Working with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and other University stakeholders, we will develop measurements and metrics for each objective and goal, collect the relevant data, and regularly assess our progress as compared to our strategic targets and performance benchmarks.

To ensure accountability and follow-through, each goal and initiative in the strategic plan includes a designated University leader or leaders who will be primarily responsible for shepherding the goal or initiative, working collaboratively with other University stakeholders as appropriate and necessary to achieve the desired outcome. In addition, each goal or initiative will have a target date for completion, with some of those target dates set for the short term (one to two years), others in the medium term (four to six years), and still others in the longer term (10 years or more). Moreover, the strategic objectives, goals, and initiatives set forth in this plan will be supported by strategic plans developed by each of the schools, as well as other major areas that outline the steps necessary to advance these goals and realize the University's vision. All these steps will help us as we track our progress under the plan, while also serving to identify areas of underperformance.

We envision the strategic plan as a living document that preserves flexibility so that we can adjust course as opportunities arise or as circumstances dictate. Once the strategic plan is adopted, we will build a dashboard for the community that will provide regularly updated information about the University's progress under the plan.
